Apollo shuts down in June 30th in light of reddit API changes; A massive blackout commence in protests

Apollo App is a third-party mobile application designed for browsing and interacting with the Reddit platform. It is available for both iOS and Android devices and offers an alternative interface and feature set compared to the official Reddit mobile app. Apollo is known for its user-friendly design, customization options, and additional functionalities that enhance the Reddit browsing experience.

Developed by Christian Selig, Apollo was created to provide users with a seamless and feature-rich Reddit experience on mobile devices. The app aims to address some of the limitations and frustrations often associated with the official Reddit app, offering a more tailored and intuitive user interface.

In a recent post, it had been announced that in light of recent changes to reddit’s API, following the footsteps of Twitter, the rising cost of running the app means the end of the app.

In light of this, there is a site-wide 2-day blackout campaign on reddit. And this website was created in response.

I personally feel like the time is too short to persuade reddit or to affect its revenue. So this site will continue to post updates, news and even arguments why more and more users should personally do their part in minimizing access and use of the site until reddit CHANGES.

Let’s all do our part in making our voices heard.
